Currently, I am working to introduce a bill to reduce the state sales tax and implement a graduated income tax. This will provide equity and much relief for lower and middle income families.
I have been able to work with my colleagues across the aisle in garnering construction dollars for a new, high-speed rail line from Spokane to Seattle. Construction on the $500 billion project should begin Spring of 2010 with completion by Summer of 2011. This project will provide much needed jobs to our area as well as provide affordable access to the Puget Sound region.
